Jonathan works for a very wide range of clients who are involved, one way or another, in property. These can be owner managed businesses in Hertfordshire, London or in the wider area, developers looking to acquire sites for future potential planning gain, new or expanding businesses looking to lease or buy or sell premises, property investors who wish to add to their portfolio, land owners and farmers looking to increase the value of their sites, and banks and other lenders wishing to secure loans against property.

He works closely with his clients’ accountants and surveyors in order to give the best possible advice in the transaction.

The values of transactions he works on is spread over a wide range. Jonathan could be dealing with the purchase of a multimillion building in London, or an industrial unit in Hertfordshire for under £100,000. On the development side, Jonathan deals with the grant of options over garden or farm land for less than £50,000, and options over larger sites to be worth several million pounds when planning permission has been obtained. On the business side, Jonathan buys and sells small businesses such as restaurants, pubs, off licences and the usual range of high street enterprises, where property forms an important part of the transaction.

Jonathan graduated with a degree in European finance and accountancy. He started his career as an auditor and accountant, working for large financial and banking organisations, before retraining as a lawyer. He qualified as a solicitor in 1997, and joined Turner & Debenhams (now Debenhams Ottaway) in 2002. He became a partner in 2003. Jonathan also qualified as a notary public in 2001.
