In an ill-fated attempt to minimise future inheritance tax the solicitor drafted a will including a formula for the calculation of the gift to each beneficiary rather than the straightforward specific gift of a cash sum. Due to an error in the formula wording discovered only after the death of the Testator the beneficiaries miss out on over £231,000 of the gifts that had been intended to go to them.
