An educational trust had been occupying a new school in Hertfordshire. We dealt with a grant of a new underlease from the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government, who in turn was taking a head lease from Hertfordshire County Council.
We were instructed and received the draft documentation only a short time before the underlease needed to complete. This meant we had to respond very quickly, give clear guidance to the clients and deal with the Secretary of State’s solicitor. A short extension was obtained and, following negotiations and reporting to clients, we successfully completed the work.
