We are helping joint trustees bring undervalued transactions and void dispositions claims in a high value, multi-jurisdiction bankruptcy.
The joint trustees have intimated claims for the transfer of shares from the bankrupt’s name to an associate, as well as assets held in other jurisdictions. The bankrupt held shares in a company registered in another jurisdiction that held a property worth a significant sum. The shares were transferred out of the bankrupt’s name after a bankruptcy petition was issued, in breach of Section 284 of the Insolvency Act 1986.
The matter is ongoing, and we are working with leading counsel, the clients and their other jurisdiction-based teams to trace the assets.
